Macworld Expo, but no new iWeb, so I'm hopping over to iBlog.
That's it. As much as I drool at the thought of upgrading to an iPhone , it has nothing to do with iWeb , which still sucks because it wasn't updated at Macworld. I suppose that iWeb will be updated later, perhaps when Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is released, but until then, I simply can't stand to use iWeb any longer. My old photoblog is still accessible and will remain so at the usual place, at least until I run out of .Mac iDisk space. I may very well return to iWeb at some point in the future if it stops sucking. ----- In the photo above, James is doing a Godzilla impersonation around the new, simpler Geotrax layout I put together over the weekend. On the screen, our Mac mini is playing Steve Jobs' Macworld keynote via Quicktime streaming. The new iPhone is just the sort of thing that I was looking for in a new smartphone -- and way, way more. First off, because it runs Mac OS X, it's actually a handheld Mac. Plus, it's not only a camera but also an iPod. It does e-mail and surfs the web with desktop class applications... Oh, hell, just go to Apple's web site and drool over it yourself. Meanwhile, I've got an agonizing wait until June, when the thing is finally released. I'm definitely going to get one. ----- I got a Nike+ iPod Sports kit yesterday. As part of my New Year's resolution, I've been walking for about a mile almost every day after lunch, and I decided that eventually I'll start jogging. So, it would be a good idea to keep a record of my walks and jogs in order to keep up my motivation. Since I don't wear Nikes, I went shopping over lunch today to look for a "shoe wallet" attachment to attach the sensor to my Asics, but I couldn't find one at one of the local malls. Instead, I clipped the sensor to the laces of my Asics with a ziplock bag and a paper clip, and I went out for a walk and jog. It's pretty cool to walk or jog while listening to this or that playlist, plus I was able to upload my data to Nike's web site for storage and future reference. While at the mall, I also saw a Nintendo Wii demonstration kiosk with six Wiis, and since the mall was relatively empty, I was able to give one a try. I played a boxing game and worked up a good sweat, and I got my ass kicked three matches in a row. I'm not sure if I'm punching too hard or too soft for the controllers to read my movements properly. ----- We found out that Hsuan bobbled one of William's kindergarten applications today, and we almost had to drop the application because we couldn't get a screening appointment without serious conflicts. However, later today an appointment opened up for a later date that allows us to continue the application. William had a slight fever and threw up this evening. I think he'll be staying home tomorrow. Posted: Tue - January 9, 2007 at 09:48 PM |
