William's "girlfriend"


He might be a little young to tease about this, though.



C. was the girl whom William defended from their friend F. to the point of taking a whack to his own head. F. and his family were asked to leave the school, and as of the beginning of January, F. is no longer at the school... though we still count him as one of William's friends and will invite him to William's birthday party.

In the past few weeks, C. and William seem to have gotten close. When I picked up William from daycare today, one of his teachers gave me an envelope made by one of the children and addressed to William. When we got home this evening, we found this drawing (flowers, tree, sun) inside the envelope. The drawing was from C.

Being a girl, she probably gives drawings to her friends all the time. On the other hand, she, William, and A. (another girl) are the three kids remaining in the class who have been together since the infant classroom, so there's obvious closeness there.

Soon enough, it will be time for them all to move on to other schools.

Speaking of other schools, William had his final kindergarten evaluation today, on our current list of five schools. This evaluation lasted all of fifteen minutes, with the teacher bringing him to her classroom and asking him to write or draw letters.
