Vacation
Travel day.
Got up before 8 AM in the Marriott near LAX.
Back sore. Took airport shuttle to LAX, checked in luggage, went through
security, got McDonalds for breakfast, and then boarded the flight. Four first
class seats to Orlando on a 757. For the first half of the flight, I sat with
James and did a good job of keeping him calm and entertained, though I wasn't
successful in getting him to eat his lunch. For the second half of the flight,
I sat with William. After getting him to take his nap for over an hour, I let
him play my

and William on the Magical
Express.Me
and James on the Magical
Express.In Orlando airport, we got
on the Disney Magical Express, riding to the Grand Floridian, with stops at the
Contemporary and the Wilderness Lodge. Sarabeth was the cast member who greeted
us at the Grand Floridian and escorted us directly to our room
(215 or 216 -- I never could remember
exactly, AWL 070603) in the Sugar Loaf
building. Same building as three years ago. Concierge service. All in all,
from landing at the airport to arriving in our room, the whole experience was
smooth. Wonderful.Our luggage was
delivered to our room about three hours
later.From airport to Sugar Loaf,
William was acting up quite a bit, bouncing around and making a lot of noise,
despite our constantly telling him to be quiet. After Sarabeth left, I made him
stand still, eyes closed, arms up, as an exercise in self discipline. Watched
American Idol. Hsuan brought food from the Gasparilla grill and the free
desserts downstairs in the Sugar Loaf lounge. After American Idol, I brought
William out to the marina to watch the Magic Kingdom
fireworks.A
sampling of evening desserts courtesy of the Concierge level of service at the
Grand Floridian (Sugar
Loaf).Rather
too much Courvoisier and just the right amount of Grand Marnier from the
cordials courtesy of Sugar Loaf's Concierge service.
