Vacation, Day 3

Magic Kingdom

Another late start. Again, I got up first, followed about half an hour later by Hsuan, then the boys. We left our room well after 10:30 AM, and we got to the Magic Kingdom around 11 AM. After stopping to get a family photo in front of the castle, we went to Tomorrowland for the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Buzz Lightyear's Astroblasters, and the Carousel of Progress, which was really an excuse to sit indoors, shaded and in air conditioning. We then rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, and James surprised us by wanting to meet and greet not only Buzz Lightyear but also Stitch.

Arriving at the Magic Kingdom.

Meeting Buzz Lightyear. This was the first indication that James might not be afraid of the Disney characters in person any more.

Meeting Stitch.

William and Hsuan went to Stitch's Great Escape while I brought James to Cosmic Ray's for lunch. William and Hsuan joined us somewhat later, and it took much too much time for the service to get Hsuan a bowl of chili.

In jail with Zurg.

Space Rangers.

We made another stop by Buzz Lightyear's Astroblasters, and then we trekked over to ride the Haunted Mansion, followed by a trip to Adventureland. There, we saw the Captain Jack Sparrow and Pirate Mac show. Unfortunately, William wasn't asked to participate this time, though he did get a certificate again. Then we all rode Pirates of the Carribbean. (By riding Haunted Mansion and Pirates, William did his part in a deal to play Lego Star Wars on my PSP.)

Some rides don't require standing in lines.

We headed back to the Grand Floridian, stopping only to watch a show at the Castle and have some ice cream. Back at Sugar Loaf, after partaking of the snacks at 5:30 PM, we all took a nap in preparation for a return to the Magic Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours and fireworks.

We got back to the park at 8:30 PM, before the Spectromagic parade at 9 PM, allowing us to visit the Laugh Floor and Buzz Lightyear again. When it came time to watch the Wishes fireworks show, we made the mistake of joining the crowd right in front of the castle, which blocked our view of much of the skybursts. Oh, well.

After the fireworks, we went to Fantasyland for Philharmagic, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, the Tea Cups, It's a Small World, the Carrousel, and Peter Pan's Flight. We got back to our room at almost 1 AM.
