A party, the aquarium, and a big hole in the ground

A few days update.

For the past week or so, I've been fighting either a liver problem or a virus. MDs always assume a virus. Anyway, no other symptoms except a variable fever and sudden, unexpected bouts of debilitating fatigue. I may be okay as of today, though.

On Saturday, William attended a "half-slumber party" for one of the girls in his class. She really wanted a full slumber party, but they're a little young for that. James was invited, too, and there was one other boy (P.) from William's class. Otherwise, girls. The girl's father knew that boys would not be interested in the girl's activities, so he built a stomp-rocket and showed the boys how to build and play with them.

On Sunday, we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific. A couple of months ago, James got a postcard for a free ice cream bar from the aquarium in honor of his birthday, and this weekend was really our first opportunity to go. We had lunch at a nearby Bubba Gump's, which was good and unhealthy.

I didn't bring my camera, so I had to make do with my cell phone:

Here, William is looking at an exhibit on surface waves vs. tsunamis.

James, as always, likes to look at the fish and turtles.

There's a new astrophysics and astronomy building being built at Caltech. Today, the construction company gave a job site tour to anyone interested from the research groups that are eventually going to inhabit the building. I went to the tour. Right now, the building is a big, rectangular hole in the ground.
