W left for Camp Cherry Valley today. His patrol numbered 11 (a friend joined them in their patrol photo above), making his the largest attending in their troop. Hopefully, he’ll garner a lot of merit badges and enough sign-offs to complete his First Class requirements. We spent all night packing his equipment, so he should have enough stuff.
The three new kids in his patrol are having their first trip to CCV, and one of the old kids is having his first trip as a Boy Scout, though he had been there before as a Cub Scout. Another old scout is making his first trip as well.
Though they’re going together, once there, they’ll be split up into temporary patrols for various other activities. W will be assistant patrol leader for one patrol there, too, so hopefully he’ll get some leadership activity and experience while there.
I finished up a lot of work on my robot. I’ll put up a demo video and update that blog soon.
